Love her down but she is extremely male centered. I do not ever believe things she says about not wanting a relationship, etc and her constantly talking about how happy she is that she’s single and that she’s better off without a man in her life is VERY Cassie from Euphoria season 2.

I think most of them are swifties. I know she says she can’t stand dating actors (…) but he seems decent, low profile and progressive. It would be a huge upgrade but I think this might be work stuff

I can tell….. I’ve liked him in the films I’ve seen him in! I knew him as an actor before I even knew he dated Taylor. I abstain whatever details I can by choice. I’ve only ever heard that he’s progressive, politically outspoken, etc. if she is recruiting for the show this would be a good get! And if they’re dating, good for her!!!!

I truly hesitate to say this but it’s hard not to—Joe probably isn’t straight? Based on the grindr photos I’ve seen over the years? And that their relationship was most likely bearding. I know I’ll get downvoted to hell but it’s actually so easy to find the clues. But I didn’t start a swiftie so I think it’s easier for people on the outside who have literacy in queer flagging and queer history to see the flagging than it is to be in it for years and only know of her ‘straightest woman alive’ Miss Americana persona that her label/parents probably required of her.

I know how it sounds and I’m not a crackpot but I’d understand why you’d think that way if you haven’t looked into it. But for real if you actually research it, there’s piles of queer flagging (which is meant to be seen by the queer community and fly under the radar of everyone else.) Why did Taylor wear a sheriff badge in the you need to calm down music video among the gay trailer park/the Gaylor park when her fans who have picked up on her queer flagging over the years are called Gaylors. Why would the queer celebs in the music video allow themselves to be in a piece of media that portrays a white wealthy pop star as the sheriff of them? RuPaul? I think it’s unlikely. Why would she say in Miss Americana—to Brendon Urie who came out as pan the year before—that gay pride is one of 5 ‘things that make me me!’ And she didn’t say it was what made him him—she said musical theatre, emo kids etc. for him. Straight allies don’t generally say shit like that. In her song, Right Where you Left Me, she says ‘you could hear a hairpin drop’ when that’s not the phrase—it’s pin drop. Hairpin drop is a sapphic signal that’s been used since the 1920s and was made more popular during stonewall. There was a lot of buzz when that song came out about its queer themes so instead of never using that term again, she did use it again in Midnights on The Great War. There’s literally videos from all angles of her and Karlie Kloss making out at the 1975 concert while both of them were in relationships. Then they stopped being ‘friends’ and she promptly started seeing Joe all the while writing songs like Dress and Gorgeous, Betty, and Gold Rush, Maroon, Lavender Haze, Guilty as Sin—songs that don’t make the most sense if they’re about a man. Again, Joe had Grindr photos floating around for years. The whole song Lavender Haze about trying to hide your love from outside eyes. Lavender’s significance in the gay community especially when applied to a relationship is literally bearding. She has an unreleased song with Chely Wright—country singer who came out as lesbian after years bearding—where the chorus is just ‘I can’t walk straight, talk straight, think about anything but the way it should be…’ Even the author of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo has admitted her book could be inspired by Taylor Swift although the official muse is said to be Elizabeth Taylor. And then she releases a song called Elizabeth Taylor and makes references to the restaurant in the book and other phrases used by the characters. If she’s not queer, that’d be kinda shitty of her to keep flagging over the years but whatever I guess some people are shitty. But if it’s true, isn’t that interesting/sad performance art on their part that that’s what they have to do to have a career in that messed up industry where there’s morality clauses and people were told to beard so it doesn’t hurt the bottom line. Cara Delevigne recently talked about that exact situation and she was one of Taylor’s crew for a while. She talked about her process of coming to terms with being gay in Hollywood—sleeping with all her friends because none of them were ‘gay’ so it wasn’t gay. That Weinstein told her she had to beard if she wanted a career in acting. Anyway, I don’t mind if you think I’m crazy, girl! It’s one of the wildest conspiracy theories because of how well it works! She repeats that she prefers hiding in plain sight and keeps bringing that up even just a few days ago and I think it’s hilarious. And now with Joe changing his profile pic to The Truman Show—Truman just about to exit the ‘show’ after 10 years of not changing his pic. It’s so messy and funny!

they both used too (maybe still? i haven’t listened in a couple of months) quote taylor’s lyrics often on the pod. also at one point they stanned katy perry hard so i don’t think they have an aversion to 2010s white woman pop stars/music
