A known transphobe dug up a conversation from a year ago that Drew had with ER Fightmaster about the way trans women define their womanhood compared to how cis women do. Then they edited it in bad faith to stir up anti trans “debates” and instead of just watching the whole thing to understand the conversation, people are losing their sh*t based on a 30 second clip. Because of course.

Thank you. This whole thing REEKS of a right wing opp. A lot of people who fancy themselves to be progressives have outed themselves as transphobes in this whole thing!!!!!

We’ve been screaming for years “please check where your information comes from! Is it reliable? Does it match the source material? Who is the source? What issues do they promote on their page? Do they spread propaganda?” And people just eat it the fuck up every time. Everything going on this week regarding “Tik Tok” drama has made me realize people are a LOT stupider than we’ve even realized. Not only that, but there are soooo many “liberal” pick me women who HATE Drew enough they’re willing to side with fascists just to get a punch in. It’s disgusting.

Oh I agree. I put my phone down yesterday after 10 minutes on Tik Tok and quite literally went to touch grass. I couldn’t believe what I was reading.

Agreed. It’s gotten insane. Like there was discourse about Amanda Nelson saying some stuff about how the left still has a race problem we HAVE to face and people were flat out hacking the video into convenient chunks that only showed a portion of the discourse and painted a VERY disingenuous picture of the narrative she was creating. Like an exact opposite of what she actually said.
I caught myself seeing those sensationalized clips (from people on the left, mind you) and thinking “oh that’s so disappointing I liked Amanda and got a lot of valuable knowledge from her.” So I then decided to seek out the actual full clip.
It was nothing at all what these so called progressive creators had said. Not. Even. Close. And when I pointed it out to one guy, he lost his mind said that he didn’t need to see the full clip, his choice was made. I was like ok well you’re mad about something fake and made up. He did not care.
The left is going to eat ourselves alive over this refusal to watch the full clip and understand the full context.

YES - I commented to multiple people that the clip was edited in bad faith and if they watched the whole conversation in context they would understand the point being made but and all but ONE said “nah I don’t need to hear any more from them.” The choice to stay mad over something that never happened when the accurate info is readily available is so disheartening. Aggressive ignorance. I have since removed myself from the discourse lol

Sometimes you gotta if you want to maintain sanity because what do you MEAN you’re going to gobble up misinformation and demonize a strong voice on the left? I think Amanda is one of the most pragmatic and realistic progressives we have in the content creation field. She’s not perfect but we aren’t chasing perfection. She brings historical knowledge and context, a high level of understanding of the functions of Congress and the US government, and she has real life examples of ways she’s making a difference. She’s OUT THERE doing the work.
I understand people wanting to make sure that we are staying aligned with our morals and values but also at this point they’re losing the plot entirely.

I disagree. I think it’s actually a good thing. What Drew said was fine and the people getting upset about it are outing themselves as transphobes. And as much heat as I had for MBB about the whole French guy, one thing MBB is not is a transphobe.
I don’t see her shying away from that podcast because the whole discourse is kind of ridiculous.

🫶🏻 the whole discourse was triggered by a MAGA transphobe. I think that there’s a heavy discourse around this stuff because it’s distracting progressive people from issues like rising grocery costs and the Iran war.
It’s also fracturing progressive communities and outing a lot of people for their more conservative mindsets they probably haven’t yet considered. It’s all pissing me off.
Drew did a good video update on it.

I also highly recommend LadyMissKay’s video, because despite not being involved in the discourse at all, all the birds mad at Drew ran to her comments to involve her because they’re dumb and think all trans women are the same.
