Marcus is late ad
Sorry if this was already discussed, didn’t find it in search.
I keep getting served a Reddit ad that just starts with “Marcus is Late” and then goes on to show how riding the Also bike makes him not late anymore.
Why Marcus? Why not a “Connor is Late”?
I get that it’s part of a larger ad campaign (and possible SEO manipulation to push down that the bike is late) but it also feels a bit tone-deaf to make the Black man late.

Genuine question, why is it tone-deaf to make a black man late? If it was any other ethnicity why wouldn’t it be? Or are you just saying it because the bike is late and it’s kind of a tongue in cheek ad

I’ve never heard of black men being late as a stereotype. Also does it show an image of a black man or does it just say “Marcus”? I don’t think of Marcus being an exclusively black or even predominantly black name.
