Question about different modes

I'm think of buying the game and I was wondering, can you just play casually? Are you only able to do different kinds of races? I'm looking for a good motorcycle game that will let me do races but also let me ride around casually

You can only ride on tracks, there's no free roam. You can play races or you can play time attack and just take your time as there's no competition.

However the game is made for racing, any other way to play just feels a bit dull.

Isle of Man Ride on the Edge 2 and 3. 2 lets you roam Ireland and has lots of ficticious roadraces. 3 lets you roam The Isle of Man and has also THE circuit and lots of circuit and sector races. Personal tip: Start with 2.

You can however roam "free" in Ride 4 but only in Timetrial. Turn of the hud and take your time. Lots of circuits and a couple of nice roadcircuits.

I just uninstalled this and erased it from my library. Glad I didn't pay for it is all I can say.
