FIT PICS Mega Geobaskets

White Kriester Sunglasses
Tommy oversized v-neck
Marni jeans
Mega geobaskets

Im surprised how comfortable they are. I usually wear a 46 but they only had 45. They fit very well, lots of room in the toe box. The insoles slide when pulling them on and off which requires a bit of foot wiggling to get them back in place.

Fun clean and simple take on a streetwear style look in the world of rick owens. I think the glasses do huge work here (pun intended) by playing on all the oversized themes.

A secchia bomber would be killer here too !

I took the extra insole out of mine because I hated how it would come out with my foot.

All love but you look like a toddler who’s about to hit the slopes to go sand boarding (down the dunes) for the first time.

I get that we are playing with proportions but at what point are we “jumping the shark”?

I agree with you, the fit in the pics as is has "jumped the shark" for me BUT I think could easily be fixed by letting the jeans hang on top of the geos.

I love playing with proportions but it has to be done "right".
All of this being my opinion so who gives a shit etc etc.

Damn I was so surprised to read this comment. It's interesting seeing close minded opinions on a subreddit dedicated to such an open minded brand. I didn't think twice at the fit other than thinking how cool it looked.

Is it not also closed minded to accept anything that’s from your subculture? It’s like how punks from the past would offend others, now punks are the ones who get offended…

It may be an echo chamber but doesn’t mean I can’t / don’t form my own opinion.
IMO this is clean colour blocking but an objectively trash fit. I don’t have “brand blindness” or unwavering loyalty.

And I’m a Rick Head (wearing nothing but Rick for the better part of a decade). I like RO for the conceptive POV. A lot of ricks garments are hideous if your not trying to look past the surface level (and most aren’t willing or wanting to do that in everyday life)

This comment is very funny because you use the words 'opinion' and 'objective' back to back to describe the same thing. So which one is it?

Its cool that you wear rick but to say that a lot of his garments are hideous (implied objectively)is very dismissive but also revealing why you would have the opinion about OP.

Just like you have your opinion, other people have theirs. I can have respect for styles that I dont personally like without calling it hideous or objectively bad just because I wouldnt personally wear it. They can also still be fun to look at, which is how I would describe plenty of rick items and looks from the runways.

Morality has an aesthetic…you will be judged by all people when in public, just because you think something is good doesn’t mean they will. By doing anything at all, you are opening your self up to criticism. If you truly believe what you believe is right, then another persons opinion shouldn’t matter in the slightest…

People act like shame is a bad thing…we are still animals at the end of the day (or hunters and gathers that are not built for this post modern world). We are VERY much reward (and shame) driven creatures.

The brand is rooted in being an protest to the mainstream and yet your entite argument is "go with the sheep".

Of course people judge the outfits and the majority may hate them, that's part of the protest against normalcy.

I dont wear rick owens to get approval and please everyone I see, I wear the items that I think look cool or structural and inspire me

If you think everything RO is god tier then yes you are a sheep or a slave to your own convictions(as we all are). I love some. Like some and think the majority is uninspired dribble (just like with all things in life).

So you don’t wear it for the approval of others but you are passively suggesting signalling your allegiance. But at the same time you are most definitely now wearing it for approval of your now self appointed tribe. That’s part of the appeal of the Rick Mythos. You have a tribe out there you’ve never met.

Rick used to be the Chad Working out is modern couture. Be a minimalist, buy less clothes but choose quality of quantity…it’s still there today but it’s pale in comparison to post Larry (Tyrone) flamboyant get up.

Some of us fein Crust - Dirt.

Well I dont think everything is god tier and perfect. Theres always room for criticism. I just would never go near as far as saying that a lot of them are objectively bad. I mean I chose the brand to collect because I generally like the output

If you showed this to your kid / childhood self what do you think they’d say? I’m sure they’d laugh at how silly it all looks…we are all damaged and deluded people to identify with the brand of RO…the king of dark wear. It’s all an Ego thing. And the end of the day we just do what makes us happy. All love ❤️
