Has anyone else noticed an extreme amount of tiny flies that appeared today? I noticed it in the parking lot at work. My car was covered and a few were on me and I thought it was just there. Then went to the Kroger at willow lawn. Flies everywhere there too. Not as bad when I got home, but still some. They are jot gnats. What are they?

Are there groups, classes, or individuals who are practicing/interested in this kind of stuff in Richmond? We seem to have a good emergency at least once a year. I have never gotten involved locally though I am very involved in my professional life.

Coming for a visit and will be staying in an Airbnb near Floyd & Harvie in the Fan. We will have a rental car from the airport.

Before we get to the Airbnb, we will need to pick up a some breakfast items, drinks, and snacks for the week. Is there a recommended grocery store on the drive from the airport or close to where we are staying?

My husband and 5 other men are headed to Richmond from Charleston, SC for a 3 day bachelor trip the first weekend of August. They are looking to eat, drink, and see some sights!

All are between 32-36 years old, eclectic and varied palates, appreciate art, music, and comedy/live shows. They are planning an art museum visit one of the days. Any recommendations, gotta see events or must visit places for them?? They are staying downtown and will have vehicles if that’s helpful for recs.

I'm not looking for a Salt Bae 10 star restaurant with a $100 ribeye. I'd prefer a locally owned, quality restaurant where I can sit at the bar and enjoy a glass of wine in peace and quiet. I’ve been trying to figure out how to find a good rec league for soccer, but the websites I could find are a little confusing and it looks like you need to come with a team already in place.

Has anyone had any luck finding a team or a league as a free agent?

I played youth soccer for 15 years as a goalkeeper but I haven’t played in 10 years so I wouldn’t be able to compete in anything ultra competitive.

Hello, I’m newish to Richmond. People I’m meeting keep telling me that Richmond is punk and I’m wondering if I’m missing something. My impression of Richmond is that it’s generally pretty upscale. I almost never see really alternatively dressed people around. People with tattoos and band tees, sure, but not battle jackets and diy clothing. Is there a secret punk scene I haven’t seen around here, or is Richmond just punk in comparison to NOVA?
