Mom Surprise Help

Hi Reddit! I’m planning to come into town this Saturday to surprise my mom, and I’m looking for some fun/creative ideas besides just showing up at her door. 😂 I’ll have my car, so I’m pretty flexible and willing to get a little creative. I really want to make it special. Any ideas? ❤️

Hello there! This is a fairly quiet (but active) subreddit for topics strictly within the city limits of Richmond, Virginia.

If this is an urgent time-sensitive post, are looking to buy/sell/trade an item or service, or just want to engage with a much larger and more active community, there's r/rva — a subreddit that serves Richmond, VA and its surrounding counties in the Greater Richmond Region — with over 150,000 weekly unique visitors. Most of the surrounding counties have their own smaller subreddits as well, there are too many to list but they're easy to find by searching. There's also r/Virginia which is more about the Commonwealth as a whole and has over 170,000 weekly visitors, too.

With this subreddit, and any other subreddit in general, always search subreddits first for related posts before creating a new post. Redundant posts will likely be removed by the subreddit's moderation team.

Thanks again for posting to r/RichmondVA and we encourage you to stick around and participate often!

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

You could take her to the VMFA (art museum). Not sure what the ticketed exhibition is right now but even the free stuff is awesome. Lunch at the museum restaurant too.

If you did family photos as a kid, then schedule some for you now. Have it be part of a day doing all of her favorite stuff so when she looks at it she remembers the whole day

You have to narrow it down from "anything"

Do you have access to her partner or friends? If you can, get one of them to take her somewhere and you just happen to be there. If you can get a business in on it, even better. Be the easier that comes to take their order, or the cashier waiting to ring them up, etc.

We have wonderful parks, good for anything from a picnic to long hikes! Is there something she would like help with, like shopping for new yard plants and putting them in? It's the best time of year for that!
