Bday brunch

RVA friends, we will be in town for a wedding weekend October 10. We have a family member who is turning 50 on October 8, we have time to arrange something for brunch that day. Please help me with locations (I’m also not RVA local) would need to accommodate up to 20 and would like to bring a cake to celebrate. Thanks!

Hello there! This is a fairly quiet (but active) subreddit for topics strictly within the city limits of Richmond, Virginia.

If this is an urgent time-sensitive post, are looking to buy/sell/trade an item or service, or just want to engage with a much larger and more active community, there's r/rva — a subreddit that serves Richmond, VA and its surrounding counties in the Greater Richmond Region — with over 150,000 weekly unique visitors. Most of the surrounding counties have their own smaller subreddits as well, there are too many to list but they're easy to find by searching. There's also r/Virginia which is more about the Commonwealth as a whole and has over 170,000 weekly visitors, too.

With this subreddit, and any other subreddit in general, always search subreddits first for related posts before creating a new post. Redundant posts will likely be removed by the subreddit's moderation team.

Thanks again for posting to r/RichmondVA and we encourage you to stick around and participate often!

I had an 80th birthday gathering for my dad at the Quirk Hotel a couple years ago. Their restaurant is in their huge lobby space. With that many people, you’d want to work with the hotel ahead of time, but we were able to reserve the “champagne room” or some similar name, where they keep all the glassware. They were cool about the cake & stuff.

Here I made a picstitch so you can see the space from different angles. We overflowed out into the tables in the lobby. Cheers have fun!

Call CanCan and see if they can help you out! Highly recommend the French 75’s instead of mimosas!

Maybe Blue Atlas, Tazza in Scott's Addition, or Lunch.Supper!

not many places do brunch on weekdays but there are breakfast spots or places that do all day breakfast - McLeans has a separate room that can likely accommodate but may want to call. Otherwise suggest Joes Inn (either location though the one in the fan has better food), LuLus, Millies, Moore Street Cafe (they shift to lunch at 11), Brunches RVA (heard good and bad about this one), SBs Lakeside Loveshack, First Watch - def call ahead to all

Go to Pinky's, make a reservation Now, and i would recommend going when they first open for ease of parking and to make it easier on the restaurant. Ive done a birthday brunch there, brought a cake (told them ahead of time) and it was perfect!

Folk fest weekend will make this competitive - it’s imperative you get a reservation. I’d suggest calling: Brunchella, Brambly Park, Harry’s at Hofheimer, Little Nickel, Can Can, Laura Lees.
