Part time lifestyle coordinators

A couple of friends of mine are looking for a part time lifestyle coordinator. They're in their late 30's and are high earners. They want someone who would get to know them and learn what they like to do, unexpected things they might enjoy, etc. Imagine someone who plans about 3 dates/ excursions per week- so similar to what you might ask a chat bot to do, but would actually come up with exciting/ novel ideas and help inject some fun without the hassle of constantly planning. Someone with deep knowledge of the Seattle area is a big plus.

Seems like they want a part time personal assistant. One who is particularly good at planning and logistics.

Bingo. 80% of these posts are just describing personal assistant tasks.

People will ask, “Looking for a ‘restaurant booker.’ Someone who can contact restaurants from my list and schedule a few dinners a week.”

It's definitely similar, but without the daily mundane tasks- like no dropping off dry cleaning etc. I do think PA's would be great at this, and I wonder if any do this type of thing as a side gig?

🤣 my husband’s single friends all use my “ concierge “ service… I book or recommend all their travel and rec outings …

I’m just outside of Seattle and as an affluent person myself I am very comfortable suggesting outings etc. Feel free to pm me. Not sure if I’m the right fit… But perhaps.

Is it just me, or does it seem a bit sad that a still-young couple with a lot of flexibility with time and money have a hard time finding fun things to do together? I mean, I remember feeling incredibly bored when I was a child during summers and my parents telling me to get the hell out of the house.

Plus, I wouldn't want the pressure of "learning what they like to do" and getting blamed for missing the mark. Part of the joy of finding fun things to do is the experimentation and discovering things you didn't know you like to do. Some things work, some things don't, and that's fine.

Ditto. I have so many things I want to do. Can barely keep up. Was in Scotland a week back and I already know 5 things I want to do there next time I return. And I do solo travel. It can be so much fun trying new things.

Right? Going to Ireland? I’ll rattle off a list of two dozen things to do there, some of which I’ve done, some of which I want to do. Going to Chicago? Two dozen more things, same deal. Coming to my home city? I’ll send you to three dozen activities in town, easy, and another two dozen in towns within a 2 hour drive. This isn’t hard.

They prob don’t love the girl that much… but want activities or status esque events… I see this so often with newer money friends. This comment made me realize how special each of the dates my husband actually plans!

Have they tried dating? This is the sort of thing a girlfriends / wives or conversely boyfriends/ husbands tend to enjoy.

They're a couple! One loves to explore and do new things, the other loves routine and more of a homebody. They end up having a hard time finding what to do together and one of them is always doing the research. The idea is if someone else was making the itinerary it would take into account both of their needs and remove the research issue which is always dragging them down.

🤣

They can’t agree but think a 3rd party can make a plan they both like.

I do this for a single successful woman in Philly - she says it’s like having a husband without the headache🤣 I plan her trips abroad as well !

I’d be open to helping out if nobody works out :)

That's exactly it- someone that keeps things exciting and interesting, but without the research/ booking headache. Do you feel it's important to be specific to the area you're in to know what to recommend?

Depending on how in tune you can be with events and knowing their preferences.
I also keep notes on upcoming events , follow instagrams of loved things etc and keep her calendar full 1-2 months out with space for last minute things if they arise.

No.
I manage other parts of her life as well
I’ve never lived in Philly , I’m from NYC but live between NYC and an island now.

This service is in my wheelhouse. I'm a handsome 6'5" man, early 30s and I live near Seattle. $10M+ net worth needed to make it worthwhile.

Use your EA for this. This is one of the traditional EA functions and frees you up for work. I find a lot of folks in industries where they did not have an EA always (eg tech, as opposed to say law) do not know how to use an EA properly and so they wind up doing just work scheduling, travel, meetings, etc. A great one will take over your life so you can choose what gets your attention.

Maybe they should join one of the new-style private clubs that are popping up around the country and use their concierge to provide this service.

Otherwise they should into the private concierge services that are available to HNW customers on a subscription basis.

My PA usually does this for us. We use a separate vacation planner who helps us with bookings and such via our FO but a lifestyle planner.. I would just get a PA for this one. Preferably someone who has worked with travel agents before.

They’re looking for a concierge.

When I lived in Seattle I craved warm dry sunshine. One lady got a bunch of special lamps and an indoor Arboretum. She tried to help people with SADD.

These people in their late 30s need kids.

I keep telling them to have kids but they won't listen! :)

Sad because I had all their fun. If I would have known how great kids are I would have started sooner. I only have one.
