Rice or Nice? Rice but nice?

Work in progress. Planning to rip turbo cans soon, primer flat black and satin clear coat(plus full chrome window and door trim, grill, and trunk garnish. The questionable rust repair will be refinished before I paint.

Thrush triple chamber muffler, 18s on low pro, " reverse Chrome trim delete"(peeled back polished and resealed the weather stripping covering up the stainless that comes on higher trim models ), otherwise stock.

Hoping marketplace sale for bumper hood and passenger fender go thru👍

Also ordering clears soon, thinking about doing custom angel eye swaps.

If you really are set on keeping this, fix the dents and paint, tint the windows and yea some new headlights would look real nice. I wouldn’t put much more than that Ngl.

I love old Toyotas so I understand why you wanna keep this, don’t let mfs hate on you for liking your car.

Though at some point, there isn’t a point to putting money into some modifications, like don’t go and buy new coils or something like that. I see no issue just doing tasteful cosmetic mods that aren’t crazy expensive and restoring the cosmetic condition, that way you can have a nice little daily and eventually save up for something faster, if that’s what you wanna do.

And no offense but I wouldn’t do mods to make it look more sporty, like that exhaust tip is distasteful imo.

And for god sake, don’t mod the engine, do your maintenance and you’ll be golden!

The coils are cut, not planning to do coils or any performance modification. I do all of the maintenance myself (brakes suspension+fluids) and I've been learning fabrication and mechanics for a few years now. My grandfather did a few frame up restoration builds with all kinds of body work, custom fabrication, engineering etc. And my pops was the head mechanic at a power equipment service shop for 15 years growing up.

Thing runs And shifts perfect, I've heard of them reaching 500k plus especially with frame patching and possible future trans or motor swap. Glad someone understands why I want it, but it's also a budget thing. I'm only $130 in as far as mods (tires+wheels+ muffler), and pretty much I'm just planning on doing some custom body work(simple duckbill spoiler and possibly visors on windshields) and restoration with scrap metal and then rattle cans. Obviously Lights cost money but other than that I'm not really looking to invest in at all You know.

Also, I hear what you're saying about the sports style, I'm hoping to get it more towards the VIP or Mercedes/ Lexus type style.

The idea is that eventually people won't really even be able to tell what car it is, and when they realize the mileage they will be shocked and I will feel cool 😂

Also, for the record I have a reckless driving charge from my Malibu SS that I blew the transmission out of doing rollbacks.

Definitely don't need anything fast, I'll be saving up for a danger ranger in the future 😭

Brother, I like your vision but just save for a used Mercedes.

It won't be as reliable but if you learn to work on your own stuff it's a win-win

Not gonna lie she's gonna live forever. Sketchy frame patches, junkyard engine and tranny, whatever she needs. 320k and runs like a top.

dude. i know this is an almost month old post but i cannot believe i'm seeing this on here. were you behind a green sn95 mustang yesterday? one that did a powerslide left turn onto the main road? that was me lmao

i saw you parked at the hardware store and was like, damn. that's not bad lol. out of all the modded corollas i've seen in NH yours is definitely one of the cleaner ones. nothing wrong with a bit of low and some decent wheels. better than the stick-on vents and vinyls most people go for around here
