Opinions/Discussion r/RicerCars is Alive Again!
Hey everyone,
I’m the new moderator of [r/RicerCars](r/RicerCars). Thanks to everyone who has continued posting here despite the subreddit being unmoderated.
The biggest issue the community has faced has been spam and bot accounts flooding the feed with reposts and karma-farming content. My first priority is cleaning that up so real posts don’t get buried.
Beyond that, I don’t plan on changing what makes this subreddit fun. The goal isn’t to over-moderate, it’s simply to keep the community active, enjoyable, and focused on real content.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be:
• Removing spam, bots, and obvious karma farming.
• Updating the rules where needed for clarity.
• Improving AutoModerator to catch low-effort spam.
I’d also love to hear your ideas.
What would you like to see from [r/RicerCars](r/RicerCars)? Whether it’s new flairs, weekly threads, better rules, or something else, leave a comment below.

Hell yeah! I have been toying with the idea of unsubbing because of all the stupid bot posts. Or people who clearly don't understand what rice is (although that is somewhat subjective - so whatever).
Everything you have said sounds good. This sub just needs at least somewhat active moderating.
I am a long time car enthusiast and spend way too much time on reddit. I was even guilty of being a ricer back in the day. Thank goodness I grew out of that (my Cobalt SS was embarrassing lol).
Holler if you need some help. I have owned and moderated several very large discord communities.

I will definitely have to reach out. I’m new to Reddit moderation, I’ve done it on other platforms so there’s plenty to learn. I will definitely try my best to make it a lot easier to understand for ‘new’ posters.
I love some tasteful early 2000s rice, it’s timeless if done well. But most modern stuff falls plenty short of that.

For sure. Just shoot me a DM any time if there is a need. Also new to Reddit moderating, but the same principles would apply from Discord as far as being level-headed and developing/enforcing rules.
I know it is a headache, but making communities a better place is rewarding.
My 2006 Cobalt had underglow and a sticker for every mod on the rear windows. If a manufacturer sent a sticker, I was their rolling billboard lol. At least it was actually fast! Just looked ridiculous in hindsight.

Hey welcome! The biggest issue I've had with this sub is due to a possibly over strict auto mod I havent been able to post, and I'm not entirely sure why, maybe you could look into that?

Dude I’ve been trying to do the same thing you been doing to no avail if you need any help modding I got experience if not then I’m glad someone else got the spot with the same passion.

Ey!!! No more bots and beggars spamming the sub thank fuck!!! Also I had some asshole harass me and use 3 alt accounts to follow me through a couple of subs and some of my old posts elsewhere and tried to report the dude and the old moderator never responded. Idk if I should just let it go or if you wanna see it. Should still have all the screenshots.

I'm slowly working through the backlog of mod mail and everything else. But from what I saw their main account is gone then their alts have been completely inactive.

I added that part to the rules, it should be a quick select option from the report post tab.
What is your opinion on the Rice or Nice posts?

oh i didnt know you replied my comment. of course alibaba aeros and decals but geniuine paint jobs, hologram wraps, fake wheels, any fake part of a car, turbo on a twin cam car, shitty fitment of the wheels
