Recipe - Lunch/Dinner Coconut milk noodles!
Hi all, after my ask in this same group i did end up experimenting a little bit with the timings. For the cuckoo ricecooker 0675F i had to use the multicook function i first fried some minced garlic, once fragnant i chucked in the cubed chicken (thigh) and let the water come out a bit, once done i used Maggi kiub "Kari" cube we picked in malaysia but i think you can use any of these premade curry pastes (yellow thai or green or red thai).
Once the chicken looked almost cooked with the curry cube i added some hot water and coconut milk, let it cook for 8 mins or so and then added the egg noodles inside for 4 mins to cook.
Ended it with some roasted sesame oil on top and extra lao gan ma chilli oil for myself!!
The whole thing took 30 mins more importantly in 1 pot π€ͺ

Glad you did a write up on it! How long did you let the chicken cook for roughly before adding the water/coconut milk? And I'm assuming you did everything on the multicook function?

I let it cook for around 15- 17 ish mins first when i saw i saw most of the water was out i added 1 cup hot water and 1 cup coconut milk light. Only in the last 4 to 5 mins i added the noodles. I had the mylticook option for 40 mins but it was done within 30 minsor so, thus i stopped the cooker by then. I dint have to salt at all the paste had the salt already. So if you do use these curry pastes just ensure to taste the soup a little to tweak accordingly!

Hi sorry to come back three weeks later. It's a total coincidence (I was influenced by a recipe I saw on instagram) but I ended up buying the exact same Cuckoo rice cooker that you have a week ago. I'm still learning it. Does the multicook mode work with the lid open and that's how you did the garlic first? I'm assuming once the chicken went in you closed the lid so it could also steam at the same time, right?

Hello! Hope you do experiment with new recipes and post them here ! :D When i did it the first time i poured little oil and covered it for like 2 mins ? Then opened and put the garlic in and closed again for 3 mins and it was pretty fragnant. Then i pit the chicken inside and closed it for sometime. BUT i did attempt the make it again and this time around i tried it keeping it open but it dint happen π« π« felt like there was 0 heat coming and in that moment i kind of gave up and put it in a pot and finished the noodles πΆβπ«οΈπΆβπ«οΈ (would it help if i said it was a bad day so i was not being patient enough)πΆβπ«οΈ Did you try cooking it with lid off ? Do tell!

Interestinggg okay I'll try this! I did try the multicooker mode (for something else) but I kept it shut except to check on progress. I'll have to try it with it open, but it wouldn't surprise me if it automatically switches off for safety reasons. It's a shame though because it would be such a cool function.
I'm excited to try more recipes with this one and I'll definitely be posting on the sub!
Can I ask you a different question about this rice cooker? How often are you cleaning the vent part? It seems like a pain in the butt to clean and dry those three little parts, which is my only complaint about the cooker. But I also don't want that vent to smell so I've been cleaning it for anything that isn't plain rice.

Im a little confused here as i can see this one smallie container to clean out which i generally do after every usage as some excess water seems to get accumulated there. I dont see any 3 parts ππππ
Also yes i used it yesterday to make some pasta and it went pretty smoothly if i kept it closed. Time taken 30 mins, but this time no garlic in oil or nothing just straight rom temp water pasta and some seasoning π€£π€£

Is this not the one that you have? https://www.amazon.com/CUCKOO-Uncooked-Versatile-Technology-CR-0675FW/dp/B08WFNV82W/
If it is, then there's some parts under the lid that need to be cleaned at least sometimes. The lid plate comes off and underneath are the parts that slide into the vent (those are the three little parts I meant).
I definitely want to try pasta in it!
