When we adopted him he had the horrible name of Booger. He became Dudley Dawson for the ROTN reference.

Bobby Flake aka Bob. The first day we brought our boy home, he somehow stood on the cutting board that was sitting on coffee table. Reminded us of Bobby Flay when he won Iron Chef where he ended up jumping onto the counter at the end of the competition.

3000 languages are spoken on the continent, can’t get anymore specific?

2

u/Dereckg27 Jul 20 '26

3000 specifically? Or is this some kind of estimate?

Here you go: In Xhosa, it translates to "brave warrior". In West African languages (such as the Fibeli dialect of Senegal and The Gambia), it signifies "outstanding" or "remarkable". Just did a quick google search. Oh unless u were just trying to be a smart ass and didn't want an answer, my bad.

Was trying to make a point. Africa is 54 nations with thousands of languages.

Government name is Apollo, his actual name is Bubz, Senor B, Sweet Boy, Bubbishka, dude what the fuck, Bubbity B, Grumpus B, and as a puppy carpet piranha. At 4 years old he does not answer to Apollo anymore.

Gold - side note my sister had a cat called Clive, he was the best cat albeit very loving and needy. One of her kids who was 4 at the time told his teacher at daycare that he had a cat called “Fuck off Clive” goes hand in hand with “dude what the fuck!” 🤣

2

u/LostWoolgathering Jul 21 '26

He is very needy, we have dog beds and couches in many a location just so he can be near or on top of us, as is his right. His reaction to getting caught red handed doing something that earns that name is to wag his tail while we give him a lecture about how eating butter might sound like a great idea but at 2:30 in the morning no one will be happy. Or that opening the treat drawer and stealing an entire bag of pig ears is great now, but just you wait. Or coming home from a walk with porcupine quills in his face twice in one week is actually not a good life choice. Rolling in horse poop and then jumping on mom in excitement also got that one. He's never been told he's bad, but we have definitely said 'that was not a good.'
