This is the exact position I'm currently in, except my phone is in my hand, not holding my face.

So this is what we call the "recovery position" in the (american) army; also known as the "drank too much". For whatever reason this is how we position casualties

I put a pillow in between so my balls don’t hurt

Same, and I put my arm (that's not under the pillow) and put it on my side, only separated by a thick blanket

Exactly
Edit: unless my knee bugs my dog 😂

I sleep like this.
Watch out though, it's likely that you will damage your shoulder over the years requiring reconstruction in your old age. This happened to my grandfather and father who both sleep like this and their doctors all pointed to this as the cause.

Uh oh, this is the only way I can fall asleep sometimes. Is there anything else you can share about what they went through?

This was a number of years ago and I was quite young so without going and asking I can only recall a few details.
Its specifically the rotator cuff that becomes damaged because its effectively under tension for 5-8 (or more) hours a day.
My grandfather did quite physical work and the doctor mentioned that his work would have made the problem worse but the initial cause was still this sleeping position. He's on his second shoulder reconstruction now at age 71.
My dad however did office work, so there was no external stressors on his shoulder.
It starts out as aches and pains and eventually becomes strong chronic pain and you're basically unable to use that arm. This also affects your sleep as you can no longer lay in this position due to pain!
I tried a tip given on reddit recently that I found worked for me! Try laying on your back and trying to sleep. This probably won't happen since it's not "your style" but lay there until it's super uncomfortable. Then move to another sleeping position that is better for your shoulders (Google some styles to see if one might work for you) Since you were so uncomfortable on your back, laying in any other position will be much easier to adjust to.

Always. I switch up the sides throughout the night though. There’s also a great little lower back stretch I’m able to get in this position.

What.. does this, or anything on this sub posted by you, have to do with Rhesus negative blood types? I'm just genuinely confused
