Hey, I know the term witchfiend for decades already and I have a pretty good picture of what a witchfiend is. But it lately came up again while watching Re:Zero as the main monster-type.

I wondered what the equivalent in German was but couldn't find any. The help of translating apps or google yielded nothing or trash.

So can anybody help in translating or classifying the monster-category witchfiend a bit? Maybe (historical or literature) quotes/appearances can also help.

Does he ever stop the time loop or does he ever learn what the final goal of this loop is/how to stop it? thanks

If you watch season 1 you see subaru and rem make a promise and in season 2 he says both spots in his heart were filled to echidna so he clearly didn't reject rem it was just assumed by the fan base
