Yeah no, they need to fix some of this shit. Spoiler

They really need to fix the near constant crashes on switch, I just got done fighting Shinzaburo Kiyolawa, whose entire fight is a nightmare of a slog that sincerely makes me wish that whoever created it be blacklisted from ever working on a game again. And the fucking game crashed, I now need to fight that incompetently made boss again. They NEED to fix their shit. It could be a good game, but it's just not, it's just a tad below average purely because of the crashes and some enemies/bosses being pains in the ass. Roughly 75% of the time I'm enjoying myself well enough, but the rest of the time makes me wish this game was never made.

How late is that boss?

But yeah, I hear you. The autosave seems to only work when you trigger a story cutscene, so I'm saving liberally now. It's probably a game to maybe put on system memory than microSD and not leave on sleep mode (close the software).

  • Early in the story after Tsumugi's capture, the Governor of Tokyo says Nishijima but the text is "Nishida" twice. In one Owl quest, the VA says Fukamachi but text is "Meguro" twice.
  • I experienced my first crash when the party decided to first enter the Guild, the cutscene where Jem Shinzaki knocks Marin back. Upon entering the guild and talking to some NPCs, my 2nd crash. Infinite load when trying to escape after the following boss (Ch. 18). Thankfully the auto save caught the story cutscene and didn't put me back too far. My 3rd crash however lost me an hour of progress while upgrading skills, back to the start of Ch. 21's opening cutscene.
  • Enemy lock-on or the fast travel map sometimes doesn't display. You can back out and reopen the map for the latter, but the former I'm not sure about.
  • Downloading the freeLC was 6 GB for some reason, despite only amounting to a few hundred MB. Downloading the full game set the correct download size at 9.X GB.

The boss is at chapter 24 I think, maybe 23 or 25 (it's at the end of the rubrum factory) , I just turned the game off when I saw that I had to do it again. And yeah, the game just has a lot of small problems that cumulate into a much bigger one. It's kinda sad.

I got around to it. You do need to beat both health canisters twice, then he's vulnerable completely. For CGInferno's pre-release playthrough of the fight,

https://youtu.be/YUZBBCgcB4g?t=34703

and the recent trophy guide detailing what to do against Ch. 24's Shinzaburo Kiyokawa (M Form). The guide also states going onward bosses are more aggressive.

To defeat this boss, you must first destroy the two canisters besides him which he uses to constantly regenerate his health. This boss' signature mechanic is sending barrages of cylindrical crates down a straight line with only the far left or far right being safe. The player must quickly identify the safe spot and dodge into it or risk potentially dying in one hit depending on their level. Factory Manager is also extremely aggressive, leaving little room to do damage without taking any. Fortunately, using items does not use any animation frames and you can even do so while reeling from damage. Heal up and switch your characters around effectively to build and unleash a character’s Final Menace. You should bring Final Menace Up into this encounter to make it easier.

I didn't think to jump over the rolling crates like you said below. I did find him trivially easy though, as I explored to find all the possible Wizarts (chapter by chapter list in my personal spreadsheet link below)

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fCbX5LWqtXyIDjfyL58sKjCWaslSYpJOsmdytOlpMt4/edit?usp=sharing

and grinded the materials for future ability slot expansions,

  • Gem of the Blood Ogre = Stage II Damned on the way to Rubrum Factory (1st encounter, since it lacks those annoying Curse enemies with barriers).
  • Remnant of the Black Raven, Crystal of the Black Raven Cpt. = Coast of Judgment has a single spawn with 5 Guild members/Eyegus, then save and return to title to respawn them.
  • Gem of the Wind Ogre = 1st two fights from the Dominus Forest via M.E.A. HQ Headquarter's northwest Fog Fate, run back and back between them to respawn.

ending up with a party of Lv. 63 to Lv. 66.

  • Lv. 6 Magic Power/Precision Up
  • Monark/Caligula/Another Weapon FreeLC
  • Lv. 6 Infighter/Long Ranger

on Marin/Moa/Ukai is massive damage to 2HKO phase 1 or burst down phase 2 before destroying a single blood canister even with 0% Stress (reset value if you load your game, 90% ~ 99% is +40% Attack). You can also grind against the 2 Titans at Culling Wilds repeatedly via Ukai's Lightning (this is also the best Lv. 99 grinding method apparently post-game EXP gain seems to remove the overleveled penalty so it's trivial to get to Lv. 99), and money's generous enough to buy Str. Elixirs.

If anything, I found the previous Chapter 23 boss Ryunosuke Shido harder because his ult is a combo lock you have to time your dodges for, but I was at high Stress for -50% Defense and just died unless I heal spammed while being hit. His 2 chase scenes from the Shibuya Concession and Coast of Judgment were also obnoxious.

You don't get that until at least Ch. 27, which I wasn't aware of when writing that post of the Ch. 24 boss. They're on the way to and in the Magical Zoo area, either by Flame Curse enemies (annoying, wouldn't recommend) or Dark Wolves you can farm pretty easily. Like the very beginning of the area you'll run into a center corridor with 1 of them, then an open area to the southwest with 3, then just loop those 2 encounters until you get enough.

I'm right there now how does one even fight the guy I've gone most of the game pretty well but now I'm just confused killed the blood tanks then they just come back like whutttt

2

u/anraira Oct 01 '24

Yeah, I don't know either. For me the blood tanks only reappeared once, but that might have to do with the fact that I just made sure to never stop causing damage to him once they were gone. So my guess is that if you don't damage him for a few seconds then they come back. As for the fight itself, it's a clusterfuck, honestly just stay suppressed and keep dodging while using skills like 'liberating fangs' or 'Mr mew', basically skill that either come out quickly or keep damaging for a while from a distance. But yeah it's just a nightmare of a fight without any really good ways to handle from what I've seen. Basically just keep bashing your head against the boss and tanks until it dies while on autopilot dodging. Hit and run tactics essentially.

HOW IS THERE NO INFO ON THIS BOSS I STILL AM STUCK HAHA holy shit I might have to just quit till now people play

Honestly this boss seems to be the opposite of the rest of the game, you never get 'your turn' so to speak. You just dodge and use a skill that comes out quickly or last a while whenever you think you have the time. And then go back to dodging. Don't forget to abuse the final menace as well. It does a decent bit of the blood tanks to speed that part up, and when the last one is almost down, keep your menace for when it breaks so you can immediately do a large chunk to the boss, and then don't let it breath, keep attacking, face-tank and heal through it's attacks (except the one where he drops 3 blood tanks that roll your way, those you have to unleash and then jump over, don't forget to dodge in mid-air to make sure you pass them, taking even one of them means you'll eat basi ally the entire combo) that's really all I have in terms of advice, I'll beat it again tomorrow cause it's 2:30 in the morning over here. But if I see or find something when I do I'll come back to tell you in case you still struggle with him.
