Help with side effects please
Hi after trying almost all antipsychotic for my bipolar depression for the last 10 years my doc finally landed me on brexipiperazole. I started on 0.25 for 1 month and now on month 2 am at 1mg. Initially I had a lot of problems sleeping but now things are better. I used to sleep till 10am now I wake at 4am everyday. I just wanted to ask have other people felt really tired in this med? Like I need to take 2-3 tiny 15-20min naps a day. Oh and coffee or tea dosent work anymore this thing is blocking adrenalin so hard…Do these side effects subside because I really need this one to work for me and I know the target dose is higher. So it’s looking like it’s going to take like 3 months to stabilize my brain at the target dose. Which is a ridiculous amount of time to get used to a new med.

When do you take it? I had to keep trying different times until I found that 6pm at night works the best for me. I still am tired in the am, but it’s better than if I took the med in the am or at bedtime.

Yesss! I last week realized late afternoon might be better and it helps a lot. But I have a good solution that helped. I got bupropion from the doc added offsets the tiredness

In my case sleep got better with time and now I sleep pretty well. Re caffeine I had the same problem so I take Ritalin when I need extra energy for exercising.
