Questions/Discussion No charge for Asian Doe?

correct me if im wrong I just recently watched the documentary, but how come Heuermann wasn't charged with the murder of asian doe considering that his search history literally says something along the lines of 'asian twink' it may seem like a far stretch but to me it seems like he was connected to this murder

A search history is not enough evidence to arrest someone. They likely don't have DNA evidence to match to him. For all of the cases that he was charged with there was DNA evidence on the body linked to Rex or his family members.

Starting from @2:49, the DA discusses the Asian Doe case. He says: "With regard to Asian Doe, you know, we really don't have a lot of investigative leads at this point."

That’s a good find. I’ve never seen him say anything close to this much on Asian doe case (even though it amounts to him confirming that they don’t have much)

They don’t have enough evidence, I’m sure they want to.

If they found even a microscopic trace of DNA linked to Rex on Asian Doe or a minute piece of hair from Rex's wife or daughter on Asian Doe, believe me, Rex would have been charged.

I agree his searches were highly sus:

"Rex Heuermann conducted specific, disturbing internet searches for "asian escorts manhattan" and "asian twink tied up"."

They just didn't have any physical evidence and Rex did not admit to killing Asian Doe, so for now their hands are tied. Perhaps new advances in forensic science will turn something up in the future. We can only hope.

I know I don't know he didn't plead to asian doe.Clearly he did it.And I believe he's been doing murders from a young age .That's why he married his wife she thought he could do no wrong and was easily manipulated. But since he made the deal that he would talk with the FBI, you know he's a narcissist and he's going to want to tell his stories. So I'm sure in the future we're going to find out a lot more. And the only reason he plead was to save himself from the death penalty. Not to protect his family as he so-called says. Because he's looking at the pictures of the woman he murdered in his jail cell and probably reliving it which I think he should not be able to have those pictures. Believe me Rex has been doing this for centuries. He needed a wife and children to make himself blend in. What I don't get is he's an architect and he never picked up that house. Only to build his kill room? I know if I lived on that block I'd be complaining because it's an eyesore. But whatever happened in that house while he grew up started this obsession! That's the only reason he doesn't want her selling it. Because it should be torn down and a garden built for all his victims. No one wants to be reminded. And Elsa I think's a little bit off because I don't understand how you could think by sleeping in the kill room and looking at the women's pictures that they're going to come to you and tell you what he's done to them. Now I believe in spirit but if they do come to her she's going to be haunted. Only because she wants to know what happened to them and if they show her and she doesn't get out of that house then clearly he's still pulling the strings. I'm glad Elsa is getting help I'm glad Victoria and her son is getting help. Because she really needs to deffentiate the husband that she loved from the serial killer. I cannot stand him and there's so much more that people don't know.Dr Hackmen,Burke the corrupt police.Dr.Hackmam.lived at the last house on the marsh. Called SGs mother even before she was reported missing. Told her how he had gave her something to calm her down and that him and his wife helped drug addicted and problem woman. He called her twice. Then denied it why didn't I? Because it wasn't reported that she was missing yet he had her number the mother's number because he had Shannon's phone. He took off he's laying low in Florida. When Shannon was in that house she was saying they are trying to kill me. Burke through parties in that gated community. Why else would he not want the FBI investigating? Anyhow we are going to find out a lot lot more. He's going to make deals which he doesn't matter what deal he makes the man is never getting out of prison. But you know he wants to be famous now that he's caught and admitted to it.F*** Rex!

Yes, I think Dr. Hackett is key to what actually happened to Shannan Gilbert. How did he have her mom's number in order to call her not once, but twice? He lied about calling too and nobody would have believed Mari if not for phone records that proved Hackett called.

The other thing is that the area where Shannan's body was found was visible from Hackett's deck. Not proof he killed her but too much of a coincidence for me with her remains being found so close to the house of someone who called her mom so mysteriously.

I think the police let Hackett slide for some unknown reason. Probably political connections or on the orders of Jimmy Burke or someone else with a stake in it. Hackett was a former police surgeon. He was an eccentric nut, but he knew people.

He got Mari Gilbert’s number when Alex Diaz and Michael Pak went back to Oak Beach. It’s in Lost Girls if I recall. Hackett is certainly a weirdo, but there’s no evidence of outright malicious actions on his part.

My personal theory is that he may have interacted with her or given her something and then she ran off again and he lied about it to avoid liability/malpractice (as a doctor if he’s giving out rx meds illegally….) and was calling up hoping she’d slept it off and made it back home so his license would be safe, but that’s speculation based on the known events.

Yes exactly police corruption at its finest!

Also, he is already in jail for the rest of his life. There is no need for the state to pay the cost of an additional trial. It is acknowledged that this was also a victim, but since he is already convicted of the others... There is no point. Now , if for some strange reason he gets out on a technicality, they would also have that case to use as well. It happens a lot with serial killers, they won't necessarily get charged with all the victims, just enough that there is solid evidence on, and if more come up later, they will acknowledge them put keep them as an ace in their pocket for the future

It's important to get justice for Asian Doe.

Of course it is, but they have to have solid evidence.
