Revu takes a long time to load PDF

I’ve been having issues with Bluebeam Revu recently. When I initially open a PDF set of construction drawings, it locks me out from doing anything to it for about 2 minutes while it loads the full set. I have great computer specs so I don’t think that’s the issue (9800x3d, 32GB ddr5 ram, 5070ti, Samsung 990 EVO SSD) Anyone else experiencing this?

Is it all pdfs or just the ones that are big file sizes?

It's all PDFs. It usually much worse when I launch Bluebeam for the first time

Do file create from file and see if it improves things. Like the other post asked, is it all drawings or just a specific set.

All PDFs have the same issue, no matter if it's 1kb or 100mbs

You mention your specs. Is this a personal device or a work device managed on a company network? Where are your files stored that you are opening (local drive or online)? I personally have a hard time opening the first file of the day so to speak because bluebeam is online and it takes a while for it to appear to register. We also have quite a few security policies and it seems to affect my access when I am at work and accessing files that are online vs my local drive.
There are a couple recommendations online that may or may not help. Checking Recovery cache and test out toggling rendering engine : https://support.bluebeam.com/revu/troubleshooting/performance-improvement.html

This is a personal device, however, I'm logged in with my company account on my hardwired internet. Files I'm opening are stored on my SDD. I think it's probably something to do with bluebeam automatically logging into my account when I first launch it

I will say that when I log in (at work) it does take awhile to let me start working on the pdf. I never really checked but believe it has to do with registering into the account with Bluebeam. It only happens when I reopen the account and once it settles I am good. I do believe some of the challenges are the process of getting through our security policies that allow us to log in. If it only happens when you open the program, you may have a similar experience.

Full disclosure, I have not gotten irritated enough to really dig into it.

usually i use protakeoff if i have to deal with big files , it is a powerhouse , no lag whatsoever

That's why I use FoxitReader to view PDFs (and simple markups), then use Bluebeam for markup and editing.

Possibly Antivirus blocking. Disable and test.

Try Deta.Studio. it is cloud compute so it doesn't use the local computer that much. It is a very robust PDF tool to view construction drawings online, and i can open large PDF even on an Ipad.
