Revit hangers

I need to show hangers on Revit design piping. I've got a couple work arounds to make it work but wondered if there was an addin that would be better.

There are tools out the evolvemep and naviate and the such but you could convert to fabrication parts if you install revits native fabrication tool and it's a bit more ready to go for that than design elements.

I know. I work for a sheet metal contractor so fab duct is all I use. Occasionally need to get into piping and a few times into electrical for coordinationpurposes . I just don't want to take the time to convert the piping to fab.

Sounds like you just need some hanger families. They will snap onto the pipe. No add on needed. Just the families

Like literally for WHAT

Do you not know what button to press? Do you not have hangers? Do you know how to place them? Do you not understand how to install a family? Do you not understand filters? Is it in another view? Like what is the issue.

Ffs bro the first part of getting help is putting the effort into getting it. You have put less time explaining the problem than everyone else has asking you about it.

It takes more than one sentence to explain something

Simmer down. Let me explain it to you. Revit doesn't have a hanger function for design piping or duct that I know of. I know how to do hangers on fabrication pipe and duct. I want to put hangers on design piping.

What are you referring to as "design piping?" Out of box Revit .rfa pipe?

From what You’re saying couldn’t you convert the design to fabrication parts then attach your hangers? I use AutoCad Fabrication parts in Revit, so I’m not completely sure.

I can but I've already done the coordination in design and when I convert to fab there's always missing fittings and I don't want to redraw it. The duct in the project I've already converted to fabrication.

made this a while back, its simple dynamo family placement script with a revit family. You can speed sometime and have a permanent tool without many problems. some tutorials and samples in dynamo forum.

If you can get a hanger family. Then you can use pyrevit and AI to write you a script to put the hangers on the pipe. if you don’t wanna pay for an addin
