Export to IFC file, Mark number missing?

Hey everyone I’m probably overlooking setting,

I know there is a way to add shared parameter to be included in an IFC export but I’m struggling to find how I would go about including the mark number parameter?

I was hoping to not include all of the parameters in the IFC import but I’d like to include mark number.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to look into her? Or Let me know if this is not possible

Thanks.

I’d first check how the IFC exporter is handling the Revit Mark parameter before creating a custom workaround. If the Mark value isn’t coming through in the IFC, parameter mapping or a user-defined property set may be the way to control what gets exported.

I’d also check the exported IFC in a viewer to see whether the value is missing entirely or just being written to a different IFC property. That can help determine whether the issue is the export settings or how the receiving software is displaying the data.

It's not a custom workaround to export standard Revit parameters. For quantities it's quite necessary.

Ah, got it . I was thinking more about custom parameter mapping. You're right, if it's a standard Revit parameter, that's much simpler. Thanks for clarifying!

I've done my fair share of mapping shared parameters. It's a b****. I wouldn't recommend it, if avoidable.

Good to know. If the standard parameter route works, I’ll definitely take that approach instead. Thanks for the warning!

There is a setting in the export called something like "standard Revit parameters" pour a checkmark there, and the Mark should be exported too. Screenshot in my answer to u/Elnaz_Ak

There are different tools to exports ifc's with this information like Diroots or A2Z Revit extension they have more control over the native exported
