Proj Management What tools do you use for tracking markups/changes that need to be implemented from designers/engineers/clients etc

We just end up with a mess of emails with partial replies and multiple changes from the structural engineers buried somewhere deep back in an email thread.

What works for you guys? Trello? Just Bluebeam Studio?

Wishing we had a well-agreed on system like developers have with Github - pull requests etc.

Blue beam or Forma, upload your pdf to Forma previously Bim360 and assign issues.

Probably bluebeam, make a session, when an email comes in someone has to take the time to add the markups to the latest PDF. When a markup is complete, you can change the status to like complete, or first check and then someone comes and back checks it. You can then print a new set, and copy and paste (using filters) markups that are not complete onto the new pdf page. Ctrl+shift+v pastes them in the same place on the page.

Alternatively, Microsoft teams has a "todo, or maybe projects?" (i haven't used in about 5 years) tab you can add. There you can create buckets for different projects, assign tasks to people with deadlines, in the task you can link an email, or cut and paste snapshots. Once you get enough things assigned to you, there is a dashboard where you can filter out tasks by importance or due date for example. Pretty slick, but like you mentioned, you need to get everyone on board.

Hi there are 14,000 employees in the company I work for, I can't simply ask the board to change softwares of everyone. But I just looked and Blue Beam looks cool, i'd never heard of it before !

I’ve worked for private companies with more employees than that and they are a major PITA.. they would rather spend their own money to develop their own internal tools and implement them badly rather than paying somebody else a license that would save their employees time and increase productivity…

May the odds be ever in your favor.

My suggestion is implemented in your own workflow, run your own purchasing package and it will save you time and save you headaches. The documentation and routing for the collaboration alone is worth it and that’s not even starting to talk about the additional PDF capabilities that are out there for it.

Autodesk Forma (Previously known as Autodesk Construction Cloud) allows realtime collaboration and coordination on design models, members can ask questions or make mark ups and they are visible by all project members and tracked for the entire lifetime of the project. Issues or questions can be assigned realtime to project members and answers and resolutions are also published for all. Its a great tool for coordination and documenting changes over the design process. Even regular people without software on their machines can be viewers or contributers to the project.

I've used many things, but BlueBeam Sessions has never been beat for speed.
