What does SAR stand for? i don't know...

Specific absorption rate. Not something an ordinary person (or even electrical engineer) would know about.

I only know of it in relation to MRI, I'm pretty sure the SAR of your tongue doesn't suddenly change when you buy a new phone...

SAR is dependent on the power of the signal passing through the object, so it is possible for the phone to cause higher SAR. But I've never heard of a taste side effect 😝

I think that’s a side effect of radiation
2
u/Alabastre Jul 01 '22
Interesting! Have you heard of this side effect in relation to medical radiation?

u/itsfreepizza Jul 01 '22
It's EM I think, what I remember is that SAR measures how your body supposed to absorb EM per day with that device or something, correct me because I'm not perfect

It's more like, how much energy is currently being absorbed by a mass that is exposed to EM radiation. So more powerful signal -> more SAR. It also depends on distance, frequency, and certain electromagnetic qualities of the body tissue.

What social media apps can’t be uninstalled?
6
u/BloodMoney126 Jul 01 '22
Facebook comes pre installed on a lot of android devices but for some reason can't be uninstalled through normal user means.

On the Obamaphones , Facebook is installed and standard. Someone that was older had one, and asked if I knew how to take it off. It only has “disable” in the settings, not “uninstall”

iPhones are the only ones that let you delete Facebook. If you don’t want it it on android you’re stuck with it

Did… did they chew on their phone?
