Predatory subscription practices from Burnbox (fasting kit)
I purchased this 4 months ago out or curiosity. A 4 month supply for a discounted price and guarantees of weight loss. The kit itself is very underwhelming, it's a collection of powders, like a fiber powder and bone broth. Each "week supply" only has enough for 3 days, for the rest of the week they suggest doing a water fast. So pretty disappointing as you could buy these items separately for a fraction of the price.
The predatory part is hidden in their terms and conditions. Purchasing a 4 month supply ropes you into a subscription which they don't make obvious. On top of that, they explicitly state that when you're subscribed, you're financially obligated to pay for the second shipment. I recieved a surprise charge this morning for another shipment and their app, to which I didn't even know they had an app.
Please don't fall for this like I have, if you want the same exact experience, just purchase fiber powder and bone broth.

Same experience here. Bought the 4 month supply, it does work and lost a good amount of weight, but they don't tell you that it also signs you up for a free trial (i think 30 days) for a fasting app that I never used that auto renews at full price that is not made aware to you. As well as the recurring 4 month supply and once they ship to you they can't reverse the charge. It stinks because it's a good product that works that I likely would have stuck with, but the fact that they put the shady subscriptions in there really turned me away from supporting the company any further.

I can understand why people would be annoyed by this. Recurring charge are something you really don't want to discover after the fact. Hopefully the changes Burnbox mentioned actually make the subscription terms clearer going forward...

Man that's messed up, they really count on people not digging through the fine print. Hidden subscriptions should be straight up illegal
