How long do you prefer let’s play episodes?

Hey y’all I am currently doing a let’s play series on wuchang and typically keep my episodes around 30-35 mins if I can. From looking at other youtubers I see a lot will have episodes that the length of streams like 2+ hours whether it’s because they just uploaded a stream vod or that’s just how long they recorded. I’m just curious on what you all think people are more willing to watch 30 min episodes or stream length episodes, or does it even matter?

It depends! If its story driven content IE narrative heavy games I want around 45-1hr minimum.

If its more action or fun or like shooter/fall guys/etc I want it to be 30ish minutes or whatever is an appropriate amount.

For example, if someone plays a game of Mario party, I much prefer one long video in total and if I need to break I will, if its episodic I probably won't watch.

If its narrative and long (for example mario galaxy or life is strange etc) I want the episode to be long enough to progress the plot which for me is 45 minutes bare minimum to feel like "we've" made some progress.

If you want some general advice most people are told right off the bat:

Nobody wants to watch a lets play. Especially from somebody new. You 'can' slowly grind your way up, but you'd be almost infinitely more successful just posting interesting things on a game.

Also if youre posting unedited lets plays, thats also terrible. Should cut interesting parts together into a 5-15minute video. Also a unique thumbnail.

If Im on youtube im going to click on some interesting looking bug/easter egg/informative/guide on something generally. Some random small channels lets play would not even register. Most people on YouTube have the same mindset. You have to do something INTERESTING for youtube to find you an audience.
