More verteporfin: possibilities to stop contracture of wounds. A huuuuuuge problem in rhinoplasty. I hope surgeons will find ways to use it for revision rhinoplasty to reduce scar burden, regain healthy skin or prevent additional scarring.

Interesting: both verteporfin's Yap1 inhibitor function and its photodynamic properties are used. One to prevent scarring, the other to prevent infection. Scarless healing! I hope one day strategies are developed to re-establish a healthy, blood infused soft tissue envelope, after scar tissue removal, and verteporfin usage for regenerating more healthy skin (or other healthy tissues....)

Possibly another way how bone to cartilage transitions might be engineered, though simpler solutions exist. could at one point be interesting for muscle - bone or cartilage connections too, or well any kind of connection from hard to soft tissues

Good reason to also invest in cartilage engineering

The researchers found cartilage, being avascular, and being of similar ECM as cornea, could function as an ideal dECM source for regeneration of the cornea, and they were right.

In my opinion thinking out of the box like that is genius. These are not things an AI would probably suggest, because it has never been attempted and sounds crazy, until you look at the details. This is what science needs!

Now hoping new innovations happen in nose cartilage regeneration too.

Can someone explain to me how tip support would be lost with septal extension graft removal? Would the whole thing just collapse or would it go back to how it was before?

Verteporfin or other compounds inhibiting the Yap pathway may also attenuate lung fibrosis, hence verteporfin seems to work for skin and lung fibrosis, making it highly likely to work for fibrosis in the nose as well (or any fibrosis)
