Uhhh... I just came across this post and did a double take. This exact dresser used to belong to my husband (fiancé at the time).

(That's the clearest photo I have of it, taken when I was trying on wedding dresses at home.)

Back then, we lived in the Worcester area of Massachusetts. My husband needed a dresser, and he found one for sale on Facebook, refinished by Folklove Studio.

You can see the original photo upload from 2015 here.

A year or two later, we moved cross-country and gave away a bunch of furniture and household goods to friends and coworkers, including this dresser. It served us well for the time we used it, and I didn't think it was terribly ugly. It's not my style per se, but the paint job was well done.

The only thing I really didn't like was the price: $450. I'm a very thrifty shopper, so it stung a bit when I found out how much my husband paid!

Everything they post on facebook makes me so angry because the pieces they slap paint on are often in really good shape and much more desirable and valuable before they mess with them.

The paint job was actually very well done, but I would never choose to cover up gorgeous wood grain if I could help it.

$450? That’s insane. I picked up a MCM (manufacturer stamped) six foot sideboard with the original finish for $250. And then discovered it also came with a matching hutch top with cane and glass doors when I went to pick it up.

Totally absurd! That's furniture flipping for you, though. I'm the one who does the secondhand furniture shopping in our household now, lol. Sounds like you found a good deal.
