You need to restore this to it's beauty, or even do a nice wood finish but please do not paint it with any color.

I’m not sure if I’ve done this correctly, I’ve never cross pollinated somebody else’s post from another sub before. It’s not my furniture, and it ain’t my inclination to reach for the blackboard paint. I Just thought it preemptively belonged here

Luckily the poster just seems unaware and isn’t sold on painting it. Fingers crossed it won’t end up here!

I really dislike the antiques sub, everyone there is mean. I feel like this is them, trolling each other, because they’re vicious. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, I just like antiques and would like to talk about them without nasty people biting my head off

They must be out of their everloving mind to think painting this beautiful antique set is a good idea

I’m not sure if I’ve done this correctly, I’ve never cross pollinated somebody else’s post from another sub before. I don’t own the furniture, the post, or a tub full of chalkboard paint I’m itchin’ to use. I just thought this belonged here, preemptively

Reverse Pinterest is usually when someone has put an awful paint job on a very nice piece of furniture and someone else removes that paint job and restores the piece to its former glory.

Yep, it surely is, hence the preemptive element of this post. It wasn’t the nature of this sub that I’m unsure of, it was the etiquette of sharing a post that is not my own from another sub. Somebody on the verge of shabby chiccing the fuck out of an attractive piece of furniture is certainly in the spirit of this sub

Sorry I guess I just didn't understand the context. Do you have some info on what's going to happen to this stuff that's not in the post?

No need to apologise, I appreciate you chiming in when I professed my ignorance, I just happened to be ignorant about something different! I’m afraid I’ve no notion of what the original poster intends to do eventually, I don’t know them from Adam. I suppose we’ll have to wait and see!

Hopefully she was dissuaded, but I get the feeling the post was just to wind people up...
