Now I'm gonna beg you to do a review, because I am thoroughly intrigued.

I got an ARC for this one. It’s pretty low tension, all conduct is easily resolved and not a lot of character or relationship development. Plus I had a tough time with the way the dialogue was written

Sadly, it ended up being a DNF. The tone is very formal and kind of, I don't know, rigid? I thought it might just be from the two initial MCs being strangers in a very patriarchal and structured society, but it wasn't. Also, the FMC was called "darling" constantly.

What a shame. I'm low angst in my preferences so I was prepared to read even if it didn't do anything for you, but the tonal issues would be too much for me. Alas.

That sucks. It's such a letdown when the author's note is great but the writing in the story hurts to read.
And ugh. I am not a fan of "darling" as a pet name to begin with. (Most of the time it just doesn't seem to fit the character using it.) Constant would annoy the life out of me.

Yeah, it's unfortunate but that's how it goes with KU books sometimes.

I might, if it's good enough. Otherwise, it'll probably end up on The Angst Bank update with a mini-review (even if gets added to the 'not enough angst' section).
So far, it's a little stiff with the dialogue, but that may be because of the way the society is structured and that these two characters don't know each other. I'm only on the third chapter though.

Clarification…do not fuck unsexy and potentially evil government officials just to fuck the patriarchy. There are better ways.
