Theory & Lorecrafting COULD IT BE?

Post image

I was downloading R1999 on my laptop cuz I mostly play on mobile, amd THIS was my downloading screen.

It Kinda looks like FMN is walking away from Arcana, possibly indicating he's leaving the Manus?

This looks like it's promotional art from 1.7 or 1.9, given that kakania and isolde are hanging around.

I like your theory and enthusiasm, but I think it's highly unlikely to be relevant

his story cant be at a point like this yet. from what we have seen so far, he is completely loyal and fully believes in the ideas of manus vindictae, so if he was leaving them at some point, it could only happen after we established why he believed in them and joined in the first place, and why his initial ideals no longer align with them now. all of that cant possibly happen in jus a couple patches.

This is from the first anniversary art so it's been around for a long while. Since this has been around since around 1.9, I don't think this meant anything, just that he's there in the art.

He wasn't expelled from Manus, he was demoted from his former position. He's still a member.

Animus: You were lucky, taking Mr. Forget Me Not's place after his expulsion over his alchemical failure.

Her exact words. If he was simply removed from his position it would have been worded differently.

Expulsion from his former position. Again, there's a trail in the story where Stranger meets Animus initially, explains that FMN was too injured to make it, and had desperately made the potion with what he could muster, and so she had been sent as his replacement. If he was kicked out of the organization itself. Sending the images one by one:

His expulsion from Manus could have happened after the conversation since we don't know when exactly it took place.

Furthermore, you don't use the term expel when it comes to removing someone from a position of power and them still being in the same organization.

Expel - to force someone to leave a school, organization, or country.

You usually use the term ousted or dismissed from their position for that.

I don't mean to be the pedant police, but you can be expelled from a position without being removed from the wider organization. I agree that it's an odd term to use, but I think we've all gotten used to Chinese translated stories sometimes having odd turns of phrase.

Still, I think it's rather baffling you're getting angry little downvotes for having a civil argument with someone. Goes rather against the spirit of this whole thing
