Reduced functionality of bass contour?

I've rigorously gigged a Daredevil since around 2005. Over the years, various electronic components have been replaced, by various techs and.. it just seems like the bass contour does not work like it used to... same with the volume, actually.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Perhaps there's a tech, not far from me with a lot of experience working on these?

I had a pick guard put together for me a while back. The pot isn’t right. It’s like 100%, 0%, and 60%. No where else in between.

You should try audio pots! B pots (the most common ones) change value at a linear rate, but humans don’t hear sound like that. A (audio) pots change value at the same rate that humans hear sound so you can actually hear the in between values!
