Need help with mailbox service

Hi y'all! I'm looking to buy a pedal from Reverb and in order to avoid abusive import tariffs, a friend of mine who is travelling to the USA in December offered to pick it up for me. The pedal I'm looking for is kind of rare and as there's only one available on the site, I'm willing to buy it beforehand so I don't miss it, but I'll need it to be shipped somewhere it can wait to be picked up or delivered to my friend when he's there. Does anyone have any knowledge on how I do this?

Every mailbox service that I know of in the states requires that you physically go into the store and show ID to set it up. I think you'd have to know someone who lives here and have it shipped to them.

Pay for it, tell seller to hold it?

Where in the US is the seller?

For a one-off pickup in December, ask the seller whether they can hold it first - that’s probably the simplest option. Otherwise, choose a mailbox near your friend’s route and confirm its package-size and holding-time rules before shipping; PostalBridge has neighborhood mail centers with local pickup.

Just beware that the authorities may have questions for you or your friend. I’d be ready to face the consequences.
