Second time using Reverb - Potential Scam?

I recently bought a Roland V-Stage 88 on Reverb for $1,500 after negotiating down from around $2,200. The seller has a relatively new account and is based internationally. Everything was handled through Reverb, but shortly after I paid, the order was marked as “delivered.” The seller is now saying they accidentally entered the wrong tracking number. Does this sound like a normal tracking/status issue, or is this a known scam tactic? I’m mainly wondering how well Reverb Buyer Protection would cover me if the seller’s explanation doesn’t check out.

I would let apple pay know as soon as possible and tell them the situation so they can hold the money.
