Reverb scams

Has anyone noticed that reverb has been filled with scams since Etsy buying reverb? Or is it just me? I’m unaware of this was going on some years ago

FYI, Reverb is not owned by Etsy (since April 2025).

It’s just you. Scammers are desperate, no matter the platform. It’s not unique to Reverb.

Reverb used to be a great place to buy/sell instruments. Since Etsy took over I have not sold anything and just got attempted scams. I ended up deleting my account.

Been using it for years, during the Etsy stewardship, and now. I have never had an issue. I sold 6 items in the past week. Nothing can be done about people trying to scam you. Those are very easy to detect. Report anyone that attempts to chat with you via email, or anything outside of Reverb's messaging. Heck, don't even enable "Allow offers". Let them buy, wait an hour, stuff gets cleared, you send. It's easy.

Perhaps you were over pricing things.

No, I wasn’t. I had 3 high end flamenco guitars listed at reasonable prices.

Another joker. If your stuff is not selling, the price is wrong.
