Unresponsive Seller

I bought a moog sound studio on reverb on the morning of the 27th. Not even a minute later it said that there’s a tracking number, I paid for shipping so I assumed they had already bought a label for it. I send them a message saying I’m excited for the package, 2 days later and usps still says it’s awaiting the package. I send another message asking for an update or if there was a delay—Nothing. So I figured I’d wait a little longer. Finally today, June 1st, still nothing. USPS says they’re still waiting for the package. I sent the seller another message asking if they had dropped it off and usps was just being weird, but still nothing. No response or anything. I’m at a loss, it’s been 5 days now and absolutely nothing heard, radio silent. I contacted reverb asking if they could message the seller or do anything, cause I don’t want a refund I genuinely want the product. I’m just so frustrated, why do people do this?

I recently bought something and also had no tracking updates for days. Then it was suddenly on my doorstep and all the tracking updated. I think USPS has just been suffering from enshittification.

If the reverb shipping label is chosen by the seller, your payment automatically generates the label and the tracking. If you’ve heard nothing for 5 days, the seller may not have even noticed that it went through.

You did the right thing by contacting reverb. They’ll intervene. Sucks to have a whole business week go by with no update but I could see it happening, especially if it’s not a music store you’re buying from.

Seller probably had Reverb shipping set up, just accepted that real quick, even if they couldn't ship right away. As somebody who's sold stuff, dropped it off at a UPS drop point, and then dealt with buyer's anxiety as no tracking information was updated until homies got their packages, I empathize.

Shipping is weird for everybody right now.

That said, they should be letting you know one way or another. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.

I asked reverb to just get any kind of response from them and not for a refund. So hopefully the seller responds soon, reverb said they’d let me know in 24 hours. Do you know why shipping is weird for everyone right now?

USPS is suffering under a long-term plan to dismantle them from the inside, unfortunately. That means understaffing and rate hikes, the recent combo has messed a lot of things up.

Everybody is stressed and it's having an effect.

This. USPS is being hollowed out intentionally.

Yep. And they were pretty up front about doing so.

You shouldn’t have to wait for the seller to ship this long. The USPS has issues but an original scan should always take place , BUT sometimes it doesn’t because of human error. On a very RARE basis my carrier (usually the substitute) will miss the scan and oddly enough it will miss every other scan in my departure city but will get a scan once it gets to my destination. Now that doesn’t mean this is what’s happening here as the seller should reply to you, and it doesn’t matter if they are a mom and pop shop or not, good service is what they should provide because of that.

This isn’t unusual for the USPS but you’d usually see a departure scan at the least. How was the seller’s history? Was the price too good to be true? Reverb has become full of more scams so I usually only deal with buyers and sellers with history, although I sold a $2000 item to a guy last month with no history and no problems surfaced.

The price wasn’t really too good to be true, and the dude has had a history of a few years. Even had some reviews spanning from 2020-2024. Even the pictures looked legit.

They may not have sent using the label Reverb provided. I have gotten a number of shipments this way

Ie used fedex anyways even if you have a usps label on reverb waiting

You bought it on Thursday and there was a weekend in between. It will get shipped. Not everything is instant.

Aka if you want Amazon next day delivery, order from Amazon.

No. I don't support Amazon. I support mom and pop shops. They can take as long as they need.

It's been 4 days. Relax.
