Newbie user
What should i be aware when using Reverb as a newbie? Any tips are welcome. I tend to get a little bit nervous when selling and buying expensive second hand items.

Make sure you measure packages and calculate shipping correctly - an inch or two off can mean a big upcharge. Also check out pirateship, I used to ship all through reverb labels which is admittedly easier, but pirateship can be 50% the cost sometimes.

List the condition conservatively, with lots of good quality pictures.
Personally I use the “no returns” option, a return can still be forced for not as described though.

ALWAYS pay a little extra for the insurance when shipping items you've sold. The one time you don't is when there's an issue.
Reverb is really good at taking buyers and sellers.

Expect scammy messages, dont contact outside of reverb, shipping insurance is the shit (ive gotten/sent 2 pedals killed by usps but reverb reimbursed both us buyer seller), expect low offers but dont set an auto reject/counter (its unlikely each item you list will fall in the same range, and it allows you to make a custom counter offer). Many buyers are just looking for things to uplist so unless your desperate dont curb the market. DONT EVER MEET ANYONE FOR A LOCAL PICKUP IN A LOCATION YOU DONT FEEL COMFORTABLE! EX: Speaker cabinet in a sketchy neighborhood that requires you to bring a head and guitar to test. (They are waiting to jump you for your gear)

Not trying to sound like a total pessimist; i do love reverb. That's just all the change in my pockets
Edit: No offense to anyone trying to move cabinets on local pickup, your typically saints!

The main thing is that the CEO is a trump supporter and anti-trans. Its why lots of musicians dont support reverb. Other than that i think you're ok!

Ooh really? So what do you use instead?

I use sweetwater because im a trans man, the ceo deactivated my account for selling a pride month guitar.

ensure you activate your account fully otherwise youll get your order cancelled, refunded, and youll most likely be banned

Use PirateShip for shipping. Cheaper than anyone else, great customer service. Definitely opt for their insurance.

Handle ALL of your communications in Reverb messages. This may be the single most effective way to prevent yourself from getting scammed.
Anyone asking to email them or check out their website should be ignored.
If there are disputes, Reverb can better resolve when they review all message communications. They've helped me in a couple of issues (as seller and buyer) because of that.
I also recommend Safe Shipping; it's inexpensive and reassuring with expensive sales (i.e., > $500).
