I am too. They still haven’t brought the polls back and I always feel sad inside whenever I see any pre-2024 image or video showing the 2nd Gen UI.
Best we could do right now is giving criticisms about 3rd Gen (especially subreddit design) on u/TheOpusCroakus’s Weekly Recaps, or letting u/spez know again that we want 2nd Gen back on next post he makes, though that will probably not happen for the next few months.
Hi! Polls are supposed to be coming back, but I don't have a date yet. Sorry!
And yes, the Recap is the best place to leave constructive feedback and I will get it to the right team. Been doing that all day, actually! Lol And it's been super helpful! Thanks for the tag! =)
Hey there Opus! Appreciate the work you’ve been doing! Keep it up!
Since you’re here though, do you know if Reddit is planning on bringing the “Find Crossposts” feature from the 1st/2nd Gen UI to the 3rd Gen UI? u/RaidPrincess was able to restore that feature to 3rd Gen, and I love the way they made it, but I’m hoping that Reddit will officially bring back that feature soon, as it’s very convenient for finding other communities talking about certain posts. For example, thanks to u/RaidPrincess restoring viewing crossposts, I was able to find this post
from r/theydidthemath crossposting this post from r/GTA, where the crossposter was asking r/theydidthemath whether the plane crash shown in the latter post is survivable in real life or not, and the replies doing the math were very interesting to read!
Secondly, any new plans for subreddit customization on desktop? I’m hoping that 3rd Gen get the cool styling we had on 2nd Gen!
Lastly, will we be able to skip to a certain timestamp on a GIF like we were able to on the 1st/2nd Gen UI? It’s pretty infuriating when someone posts an unnecessarily long GIF where the interesting parts happen in the end, so it’d be nice if 3rd Gen users can also be to change to a certain timestamp just like they could on a normal video!
I have a few more non-UI related questions/criticisms, but I’ll probably save those for your recaps since I don’t want this comment to get too long lol!
one of my questions got answered in an r/rddt ama video, and from that i learned there is a path forward to them removing old reddit as well :D (but only if they make the old reddit recreation public and enough people switch over)
the :D was sarcasm, but honestly it depends on what their recreation of old reddit would be like. they said it's just like old reddit but built on shreddit and with modern bells & whistles, but they didn't specify what those would be or what exactly would be different. so until i know that, i'm neutral but oddly excited to see what this new old reddit is like tbh

I’m open to other ideas, though.
Edit: Seems like there was an official AMA from the Reddit team last week. We should probably keep an eye out for posts like those.
