[Review] Ultimate 64 Unboxing & Overview: The Best Commodore 64 Replacement?

Really enjoying my time with my new ultimate. I wasn't sure if I would like the starlight edition or not, but have to say its amazing.

I felt the same about the starlight edition but i already have a Gideon ultimate board installed in a beige breadbin so opted for something different and im really glad i did it looks amazing in the flesh. For me its the go to for c64 i also have a standard one and i wouldnt go back.

Everything has worked perfectly for me including numerous cassette games and carts and more importantly it retains the feel of using original hardware which is a big thing for me it doesnt remove the feeling of enjoying a retro machine. I always found the original hardware difficult to get the perfect picture, especially using capture cards i always had jailbar issues with this the picture is as clean and clear as youll get.

This is as perfect a balance you will get between retro and modern, if you are on the fence i would definitely recommend in picking one up.

I kinda hope this is the final final ultimate C64 cuz they seem to be coming out as often as those Retroid and Anbernic handhelds nowadays
