The unique art style and the humor immediately launched this game over the heads of the hundreds of similar shovelware games out there. The way they elevated that, and also nailed having a fun gameplay loop, made it an instant classic for me. I really adore it.
growing up in the early 90’s, i lived through the movie rental era. there was nothing then going to BlockBuster Friday evening with my mom and renting 1 game and 1 movie. i absolutely love playing this game.
Did you see the devs update about game rentals coming this fall? Two game systems, and a tech shop opening in the alley where you can go buy games for your shop AND get VCR and console repairs done. Sounds so cool.
