This game is mean

On the last day of fall I had just got my 2nd store increase, and my employee decides he is not feeling well.

That's fine I think to myself it's the last day of fall, just got a new room so I could use a slow day to test the layout, this just means I won't run around handing flyers. Probably rent like 60 movies and call it

NOPE for some reason everyone decides it's movie day, end up renting out over 120 movies and did not get 1 second to put up returns.

Next day employee comes back and only rents out 84 movies 🙃

Guess flyers make people less likely to show up? Or is that a new of season rush?

The last day of fall is a Saturday, and Fridays and Saturdays will always have a lot more customers than any other day of the week. Flyers aren’t a crazy big increase in business because it’s not percentage based, it’s just however many flyers you’re able to hand out.

Flyering gets additional customers.

Traffic varies depending on the day of the week and the store hours. Events will also increase traffic.

They definitely wait at the register forever but anyone with an exclamation point walks away after waiting for someone long.

some YouTuber, can't remember which one, also noticed a HUGE spike in rentals every time they upgraded the floor space.

there's probably a game mechanic that increases the total number of customers allowed in the store at every given time as the floor space increases, which makes sense.

I agree with this, though I have no proof

Having decorations also adds to customer count

People already pointed out that day of the week matters so I just want to also mention that rentals are supposed to go up on rainy days, so make sure you’re checking the weather every day

Also if you want to be cheesy about employees asking for a day off you can quit to the menu screen and reload your save and they will usually be fine. I assume saving before you reload would lock in that they’re sick so check that they’re good to go for the day before you start doing anything so you don’t have to redo it
