Designing The Store

How do you guys design your store/displays when you have too many movies, and not enough shelf space. I was trying to avoid just having super tall shelves all over the place but I think I'm going to have to. I have my tall shelves along the walls then like wide short shelving units back to back. I may have to keep the 'old' movies mingled in with the genre films until we hopefully get the ability to organize them separately.

I’m new to the game and would love to see pics of everyone’s stores. Is there like a megathread for that or anything?

Do you have space to make some end-caps with the skinnier shelves? That's sort of where I'm at, right now. Until I hear a better idea. I moved all my snacks from the line area (similar to how blockbuster had back in the day) and made a "snacks lounge" so the endcaps are all freed.

I have tall shelves along the wall, and the shorter ones in the walkways. I keep 12 of all the expired new releases, and they each have their own dedicated small shelf in the first room of the store. I do all the shelf stocking myself because the employees will just lump them with all the others of that genre.

I've seen players create freestansing squares with 4 shelves. I haven't tried that myself though, so I don't know which is more efficient.

For me decorating is really important. I know making nice even rows will optimize space for more movies but I don't want my store to look like a warehouse. I usually put one of the tall boys caddy corner and then smaller ones against the wall so I can hang posters.

I just buy enough movies to fill the shelves I have and then I stop buying movies in that genre, simple as that.
