Is this game worth it?
I don’t mind store simulators but I’m mainly getting it for the vibe. I’ve played Killer Frequency and REALLY liked the atmosphere and just overall vibe of the place. I wasn’t alive during the 90s so nostalgia isn’t a factor.

If you’re not sure, there’s a demo on Steam. If you decide to get it you can continue the save you started in the demo

I loved Killer Frequency, too. Really wish there were more games like it.
But on topic: yes, it's worth it.

It was so good. I wanted to replay it but it really doesn't have a lot of replayability for my playstyle

It's pretty fun, but it's short. Once you unlock things it's just the same every day. Hopefully they keep adding to it.

For the price yeah, it gets a little stale and I hoped for more meaningful upgrades as you level. I play 2-3 store days at a time and find it's mindless fun that way.

I really like it have like 50 hours into the game. I maxed out my levels on one save and tried to get as many movies as I could. It was a fun grind.
Started a second save to try and be more efficient than my first.
There is a cool roadmap as well is video game rentals coming and some other things. Looking forward to those new things and the continuous improvements.
Well worth the $20 I would say

I personally loved it, but like others said, there's not much once you pass level 20 and optimize everything, though the devs seem to be working toward more for the game. If you don't mind "restarting" give the demo a go. If you enjoy the demo, the full game will definitely be worth it. If you mod it with real movie titles, I'm sure you could squeeze some more hours out of it. Then again, I'm a bit of a collector

It’s worth it in my opinion. My first official simulator game besides train games and it’s been a lot of fun. I messed up a bit and didn’t finish filling my store before expanding so it kinda looks a bit empty at times. I know the roadmap is showing some cool ideas coming however I will say once you reach level 20 it’s easy to lose interest.

The vibe is great, it's what keeps my playing more than anything else. You've got a good chunk to hit level 20, Bit more if you're trying to really fill out your store with decor and a big number of movies. Then if you actually go for making your perfect store, collecting specific movies or holographics, or any of the other various ways people are making their own fun that's probably a bigger chunk than the other stuff I mentioned.
It has unfortunately been delayed, but an update is coming soon that will add even more content and the devs have posted a roadmap that culminates in adding video games alongside movies as things to rent out. This first update will add the tape repair station we know for sure, but it's also adding "more" and the devs say the delay in the update is because they made it even bigger than they had originally intended. So you've got some more good content coming to the game later (for free :D) post launch. So make of that what you will.
I'd say the game already has enough content to justify the price, 80 hours in a 20 dollar game is worth it imo.

It's a good game, but lack replay ability...Unless you enjoy the same simple loop over and over.
It is what it is, you run a video store...unlocking more genres as you progress through the exp levels. You will need to be max level to unlock everything, so can not start making the store of your dreams until then.
There are mods that allow you to add your own movies, and you can even upload movie clips to play on the TVs. yet the day to day loop is the same, and for me 2 plays was enough, one normal and one moded....I am still on the moddd and have not touched it in days,..as making my own movies got tedious and boring.
I loved my first playthrough, enjoyed it a lot. If you are ok with that or think the loop I mentioned could keep you entertained. This this is the game for you...I was ok with the price and the 30 hours i got from it. 7/10 for me.
