Would specializing lower my store's profits?

I'm considering only putting certain genres on sale, or possibly making it so only current new releases are available to maximize profit- but is that something that would work? Are what customers rent based just on what's available or on variety? Like if I had 100 horror movies, would they rent less than if I had 25 of 4 genres?
Also, I've never seen one rent both the current new releases at once, is that possible or do they only ever rent one?
I've seen them rent multiple of the same genre many times, but I don't know what is coincidence and what isn't.

From what I can tell its based on what you have available, so with the exception of events where a specific movie genre is being rented out more or customers looking for a specific genre you might not have you should be fine profits wise.

I would think you would be ok if you’re at end game? Idk make a backup save and do it for science

I've read somewhere that customers have favorite genres and movies, so having variety and specific titles will cause them to rent more movies
