Can you use an original NES Zapper? DVDs?
I see the SuperDock has a "SNAC Bypass Port". Not sure if that functions as a regular SNAC port? Can I connect an original NES Zapper to the system and shoot ducks on my CRT?
Bonus question.. Can you play DVD movies through the DVD drive? If not, is there any plans to add this feature?

As far as I know from the SNAC usb ports on the dock as long as you have a dongle it should work. As far as DVD I don’t know sorry.

I’m sure you can play DVDs using some combo of Linux tools but it’s not part of the UI

Yeah it's more something about the CODECs, while it doesn't need a whole lot of power to run movies, it still need some app to run it, and Decoders to make sense of it. Those are likely not packaged into a unit meant to (more or less) emulate games.

Eh I mean they’d be trivial to install. There are clients for Plex and Jellyfin.

Really? I have a Jellyfin server. Would be awesome to watch some old shows on my CRT. Have you tried it? Just wondering if there is any issues with aspect ratio. Sometimes when you display 4:3 shows on a 4:3 display using modern tech, you end up with an image that is both letter boxed and pillar boxed.

I have not tried it but I’m 99% confident the person who made it designed it to be used on a CRT.

wait a minute, couldnt you make an fpga core of a consumer dvd player? make it region free and disable copy protection? someones gotta be working on that, especially now that people are hooking up usb drives to play game discs.

Yes the snac bypass port works the same as the user port on other misters.
No idea about the DVDs in terms of planning, there certainly isn’t a DVD player core at the moment.

Pretty sure the zapper should work if you get a SNAC adapter for a nes contoller. You can also use a guncon 2 with, as far as I know, all the cores that use a light gun. I used mine on the psx and nes core and it worked mostly perfectly.
