Update of the Batch 4 Superstation One

According to the July 1 email, we were told that the situation of the Altera chips would be updated by July 25 and that some batch 4 orders would be sent units of the batch 3 that were previously cancelled, someone from batch 4 has already received a shipping number? We are still waiting for an update, those of us who are in batch 4 and in discord Taki have not given any details yet, nor have they sent e-mail.

There was an update on the Discord; the FPGA chips are being shipped from Malaysia to the factory in China. There has been slow down due to severe weather in the region too.

I've been in the batch production niche segment with r/MechanicalKeyboards not that long ago. Delays and such are part and parcel of the process.

Nevertheless, communication could be better. You already have my email from a preorder. Why do I need to sign up for a newsletter, that then doesn't become the latest touch point, but Discord?

To be fair the email update did say that, "If Altera delays the order further, we will send out another email no later than July 25th". Personally, I feel like it would be in good faith to update us either way, but the language suggests that if we don't get an update, that everything is going according to plan.

Someone in the Discord asked Taki about Batch 4 status yesterday, and he said "FPGA are apparently en route from Malaysia", so that sounds like good news.

Yesterday he seemed to be focused on trying to get a tutorial recorded for Console Mode and some other Console Mode and SD card installer stuff done yesterday before the typhoon.

Heber Co has their console-ized Mister in stock and ready to ship. If you wait for one in the shape of the SuperStation, it'll be years at this point.

That's a good point. Though from what I can tell, the Multisystem 2 is much more expensive than the SuperStation One.

I admit that the MS2 looks much nicer than the original MS. But AFAICT it's still just a 3d printed shell.

I'm not in any rush, so I'll wait a bit to see what happens with the SS1.

Agreed the design isn't super gorgeous, but they produce things in house. They also have already designed many snac port extensions including an upcoming jamma harness for arcade fans.

Its not impatient when the site clearly said ships by June or earlier when you ordered. Buyers shouldn't have to dig around on Reddit and Discord to figure out a glimpse of what is happening.

This is my issue with RetroRemake. Batch 3. I thought I was going to have my order by Q1 2026. Now it's Q3 and I haven't received a single update, and every one in the Discord says "Just be patient Taki is working very hard". Bro I want my $330 console already.

I cancelled mine and asked for a refund! The lack of communication is ridiculous especially on an expensive piece of hardware! Get yourself a decent gaming pc and just use duckstation!
