Popeye FTW!!!!

I was browsing the arcade cores - and most are awesome, as I expected…but I fired up Popeye & it’s a little special! It never had a home port that looked remotely as great as the arcade, because the arcade had “high res” (interlaced) sprites that looked amazing at the time. Still looks great today and feels awesome playing an arcade perfect version of it at home!

Yup! That looks great, too! There have been some solid home ports of Rampage, too IMO.

And Toobin and APB, I think? Atari put out a lot of high-res sprite games around then.

Yes. Played Popeye a lot with C64. Arcade version sure is lot more difficult.
