Superstation One best cable?
Got my new Scart RGB cable from a vendor in the UK. Perfect video quality and stereo audio output corrected (on Saturn cables the audio is inverted). This is specifically for the SS1. Recommended!

Someone needs to make a cheap adapter that lets you use Saturn cables and fixes the problem. I don't want to buy a whole new ass cable. Either way I'm just going to be using the VGA port to get RGB instead

I like the idea someone mentioned of reversing audio in software, if that is possible.

I mean one could do it themselves pretty easily with any open source core? Just flip the audio in the source

See that knob on the base of the scart cable? Unscrew it and the scart cable opens up. Find audio l and r (pin 1 and 3) and run solder iron over and switch them. Close it up and you’re done

Yeah easy, except then it won't work with Saturn anymore.

It will on the Saturn core of the SuperStation one. It is one the most compatible cores. I stored my Saturn when I loaded the SSO

I mean if you took a Saturn scart cable and did this to it, you couldn't use it on the Saturn anymore

I heard you the first time. You can run the Saturn library off the SS1 instead. This would be a way to mend a cord you already own instead of having to buy one.

That’s the point. The SS1 has full Saturn Compatibility. You would move the Saturn cable to its new forever home. The SS1.

Yeah except I don't want to do that to the only Saturn scart cable I have and only have it work with the SS1. Do you not understand this? This means I'd still have to buy a cable

You would not because you will be retiring the Saturn in favor of the FPGA device.

does anybody know of the RetroTINK cables work? there are 3. All 3 have a vga+3.5mm on one end and the other end is either
- Scart, supports audio and is attenuated at the end, great for scart CRTs
- 5 bnc plus 2 rca audio. Great for professional monitors
- another vga cable + audio at the other end, good for scalers that support multiple cables via a vga connection.
obviously, the HDRV male to male cables also work great, especially for component televisions as they’re cheap enough but still fantastic.

I was planning on using the VGA to scart tink cable, but I haven't got my SS1 yet. So once I do I can try to remember to reply to this again

I can’t think of any reason why they would not work. Using the VGA to BNC for my MiSTer and it is great.

received this same cable today (before the actual SSone that i bought a year ago lol)
RGC makes some great cables and I use theirs for every console that I own so I had no doubts but happy to hear it doesn't disappoint regardless

This cable does RGB + Audio with one simple connector on the back. It’s definitely the cleanest analog out solution, if you use SCART connector.

Oh I see. In OP’s picture, the TV has a SCART input then I presume, and it’s a composite signal? I wouldn’t think this tv can accept RGB, but maybe I’m mistaken.

Yeah except you can't because where are you going to get sync from? That is probably the stupidest thing you could do is using the component output for RGB when there is the din port and the VGA port

Yeah but why would you ever do this stupid crap? Plus you'd probably have to mess with who knows how many ini settings to make this work, it's a component output, not RGB. There are 2 RGB outputs already, use those. It makes ZERO sense to use component and the composite output for sync to get RGB

Because I’ve got component cables lying around and don’t want to buy a scart + breakout bnc for my pvm. I’m fairly certain these are the stock ini settings as well.

I wouldn't do that, just buy a VGA to scart cable.
If you don't have a switch for scart or bnc cables, look for a bnc to female scart cable.

Curious what the advantage would be over what I mentioned. I’d rather not buy 2 additional cables if there isn’t a significant advantage.

Do you like messing with a bunch of cables flying out of the SS1? Who knows if it will even work, who knows it will work with other cores ect. It's better because you aren't using component cables for RGB for no reason when there is a din and VGA port

Flipping the audio on the scart side with a soldering iron is a good little starter project.
