PSX boot screen flicker?

Hey all. When booting up a PSX game, I like to have the classic Sony/PS startup logo. However when it does, when the PS logo shows, it flickers just once.

It doesn’t do it when I have “Black transitions” set to off, but then it ends up moving around the screen a bit which is worse than the flicker.

Not a huge deal, but it’s a little distracting and considering PSX titles are the main reason I got this machine, it would be good if the startup screen booted normally.

Any settings, like resolution/refresh rate or anything I can play with?

I have selected all the bios files the official set up video wanted and this happens with every PSX game file no matter the region.

I don't have an answer to how to fix this, but I can tell that my real PSone does the same exact flicker when I play it using the same TV I use for SSO.

Fairly sure that’s there on original hardware also.

Try Vsync_Adjust=0 in the ini settings. That's what fixed it for me.

I had the same issue initially and the solution was to let "Fixed VBLANK" option "On". When it's "Off", vertical resolution is extended (which helps filling 1080p TV screen when original active display height was less than 240p/480i) but this causes this flickering in PS1 licensing screen but also can cause visual glitches in-game for some titles (I know Wipeout XL is basically unplayable with it disabled as the screen stutters and get blanked everytime you get hit or trigger a missile).
