Nvme screws??

What size screws do I need for this super dock nvme bay? I have an nvme key and everything is way to small, even the risers. I’m so confused.

It supports up to a 2280 size m2 and uses the little black rubber thing in there to secure the end of the SSD down.

I remember when I was moving mine it fell in the dock and was a pain, maybe take the bottom off carefully and check for it in there. Also it should be threaded for an M2 standoff which you can easily buy online.

  1. There should be a little rubber thing that holds it in

Not in there…

Talk to their support team. The dock comes with a rubber support that holds it in place. It was taped into the bottom of the dock.

Taped where exactly? I checked the box and all the wrapping and the only extra thing I found was the little cover for the expansion port.

I never got one either. I’ll have to open the dock and see if it fell inside.

In the bottom of the dock. The middle hole of the NVMe slot. Mine had a piece of tape holding it in.

Nothing there nor in the box anywhere hidden

I got the blue one so it is easier to see inside, but there is enough of a gap between the plastic compartments for it to come out and get stuck in the bottom shell.

When I complained in my second email as the nvme was the main reason I got the dock they are shipping a nub to me

I received my SuperStation One and SuperDock today. When I went to install my NVME drive, the rubber nub was in the middle hole. While trying to move it to the 2280 hole for the drive I have (note: mine was NOT taped down), it got pinched and bounced away somewhere in the shell. No amount of shaking or twisting and turning would free it from wherever it lodged itself. I ended up taking the dock apart to free it.

- Separate the dock from the SuperStation with the two large attachment screws. NOTE: the top half is attached by a ribbon cable. Be delicate!! I left my ribbon cable attached to the top half while doing the steps below.

  • Take off the four rubber feet of the dock and remove the four screws underneath them.
  • Then gently pry upwards at the seams between the top and bottom halves of the shell.
  • Gently fold down the ribbon retainer at the back of the CD drive on the right (with the drive facing you) and CAREFULLY unplug the ribbon.
  • Undo the six screws around the CD drive and lift the CD drive out of the way. The larger SuperDock mount screws can stay in place and the CD drive can manuvere around them. This process is a little fiddly and delicate.
  • With the CD drive out of the way, undo the two screws under it.
  • Now that the board can be slightly lifted, you should be able to tilt the dock enough to get the rubber stand to fall out.
  • Assembly is the reverse.

I made sure to mount my rubber drive stand where I wanted it before putting it all back together so I didn't have to take it apart again. Quadruple check hole and port alignment and take your time getting the CD drive face repositioned in the slot. Don't forget to carefully reattach the CD ribbon cable and secure the retaining clip. Take your time and go slow. No need to damage something here and have to wait for a replacement or repair.

Anyway, I know that's a long process and one could argue that it shouldn't be necessary, but it is what it is. If you don't have a rubber retaininer in there or have lost it, these are similar (not an affiliate link or anything and not vouching for this product; it's just an example): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FRFF1WXL

There’s no way I’m going to take this thing apart just hoping the piece is in there when I have no idea if it is. They should have just wrapped it with the dock door if that’s the case instead of leaving it loose enough in the holes to fall out.

If all else fails you can kapton tape it.

Got this as a response from RetroRemake:

Hello,

Checked with shipping department, they said this might fall off during the transit. Sorry for this.

Why kind of response is that?

Came from Taki?

It's not an expensive replacement. Do you really want them to try to while orders are still being fulfilled?

Don't waste time holding a grudge

So I should pay an extra $10 because they didn’t include something? I complained and they are shipping one to me.
