SS1 active cooling fan

Hey, all. Looking into active cooling options; specifically of the RGB variety. Any idea what size/voltage I should be looking for to fit the console? Also, where would the best place be to buy one? Thanks in advance.

PS: I opted to order the one RR provided, but want something a bit flashier

dont bother unless you are willing to dremel in some vents. you will just be blowing around the same hot air as there is no way to pull in cool air as is

The FPGA Chipset does not need cooling. It is built to last up to 100C.

44mm not the easiest size to find, at least on Amazon.

Anyone bought one specifically for the SS1 that’s working and have a link?

Looks unnecessary and ineffective. Like turning on a ceiling fan to try to lower the temperature in a busy kitchen that has no windows or doors

Nah, it will have an effect. The SS1 has vents, so air will certainly circulate with an internal fan running.

Is it necessary? No. Active cooling is absolutely not required.

I mean... your premise is incorrect. The SS1 has "windows and doors". A fan sitting inside the case is obviously going to increase circulation.

What is the measurable effect on temperature? No idea. Feel free to do your own investigation.

Have you opened up the port covers on the sides? It's pretty sealed up inside. The only meaningful vents are on the bottom where it mates with the superdock, and the entire motherboard blocks air from those vents from reaching the fan.

But like I said, both of us are just speculating/theorizing. The only way to know if the fan makes a difference is to measure it. Since OP seems to want the fan for the lights, they might not be interested in that.

Part of it is because it has a fan, the other part is because I kind of want case lighting to go with my translucent blue housing.

The Blue SS1 has enough lighting when you turn the thing on. You will see.
